Southland Magazine is a local publication designed, written, and printed right here in Southeast Georgia. We're not a franchise or spin-off. We were built from concept to where we are today in Statesboro, Ga. Most of our articles are written by people you may know from all around our readership area, and our magazines are printed locally at Lewis Color in Statesboro.

Why we're here

When looking at print selections around the area we noticed a few things. Available print fell into one of two categories:

1) Throw-away newspapers
2) Magazines that were either exclusively feminine or targeted to a very specific, very narrow reader group.

We set out to create a magazine that really speaks to the largest segment of southern men and ladies.

We based our content on the knowledge that:

A) Most southerners enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fishing, sports, music, and cars, but they're also businesspeople and professionals who care about the financial market, family people who care about their wives, husbands & kids, and people with a love of God and community.

B) Most southern ladies seem to be completely misunderstood by the magazines that try to target them. While southern ladies shine brighter than any other females on earth, they love getting their hands dirty, love fishing, racing, and a surprising number of them love to hunt and can frequently out-shoot the men. Most are more interested in nature, family, and community than the latest Paris fashions.

The south is a unique place with unique and special people. That's what we built ourselves around.

As we head into our second year we're genuinely humbled by the enthusiastic response we've received and have been constantly encouraged by the people who write and email us as well as the distribution points who tell us about the people who make a special trip just to get our latest issues.

We always welcome your suggestions, response, and feedback. Fell free to contact us anytime.
